Full-Time Data Scientist /Software Engineer

We are looking for a Data Scientist who is also a Python Coder and can apply data science to real-world applications.
The Data Scientist does NOT need to have security experience.

We are looking for a software engineer/data scientist with a passion for working with semi-structured data and graph datasets, to build out network-based threat detection using AI.
The ideal candidate will have domain experience (data mining, security data science, advanced statistics, and/or machine learning), a strong systems orientation, and experience in building data mining, security intelligence, threats detection and known threat attacks. The work you put forth will directly impact the next generation of threat detection system.
The ideal candidate isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty aggregating data, feature engineering, and prototyping. You will move quickly from problem identification all the way through production izing algorithms via REST APIs.
Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Investigation and prototyping of innovative technologies for detection and mitigation of advanced security threats
Development and operation of a big data infrastructure for malware research and threat intelligence
Architect and design software solutions around data ingestion and long-term storage and retrieval
Work with data, crunching millions of samples for modeling data mining
Work with security analysts to develop data models
Determine opportunities to exploit new data sources or leverage new outcomes from existing data sources by applying new models and algorithms to create value
Identify, leverage, and successfully evangelize opportunities to improve security engineering productivity
Identify methods that will assist the team with a better understanding of ML model false positives/negatives and overall performance
Research automatic malware analysis, malicious traffic analysis, threat intelligence and related topics
Embed analytic models into enhanced business processes and operational systems by collaborating with Application Developers
Experience with applying advanced analytic techniques, including natural language processing and machine learning
Experience with scaling data products across distributable computing environments, including Hadoop
Experience in any of the following is a plus: recommendation engines, NLP, predictive modeling (GLM, logistic), clustering, statistical modeling, elastic search
A proponent of strong collaborative software engineering techniques and methods: Agile development, continuous integration, code review or pairing, unit testing, refactoring and related approaches
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
Self-directed and able to perform assignments independently, and at times, with management staff under time constraints and stringent deadlines
Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent
Experience developing and productionizing machine learning models
