Full-Time Disaster Recovery Analyst – Weston/Waltham

Job Description

As a disaster recovery Analyst, you will be responsible to drive the planning and implementing of disaster recovery capabilities and processes.  This role requires working with the application development, Infrastructure & Operations teams and other stakeholders to create disaster recovery (DR) plans, manage DR operational activities, and to work closely with the Business Continuity team to mitigate impact to service offerings.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with BusinessContinuity team to understand Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery PointObjectives (RPO) for critical business systems
  • Work with technology departments to determine recoverability options
  • Maintain the disaster recovery plan which includes:
  • Coordinate with technical teams on the creation and maintenance of DR plans
  • Review all existing plans to ensure they are current and validated with the responsible technical resources
  • Coordinate with technical team’s to ensure that DR solutions are adequate, in place, and maintained
  • Work to identify, test and implement new technology or practices to improve recovering systems
  • Recommend recovery strategies and options and assist with the implementation of recovery solutions
  • Develop DR Test schedule gaining approval from stakeholders including IT management and technical teams
  • Develop IT DR Plans that define the scope, objectives and performance details of the planned tests
  • Coordinate the execution of DR Tests per a defined checklist; a collection of performance data to support reporting of results, identifying issues, and lead DR Test toward successful completion of the test
  • Conduct Post-mortem meetings to document issues related to recovery technologies, processes, and support
  • Identify root causes of recovery issues and work with technical teams to drive resolution
  • Produce reports summarizing the DR tests including actual time frames, issues identified, actions taken to resolve the issues, and future testing to be performed

 

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience, knowledge, skill, and ability to establish and maintain a company-wide disaster recovery program and serve as the subject matter expert
  • Knowledge of infrastructure operations and familiarity with disaster recovery operations
  • Should be self-directed and able to work independently
  • Ability to communicate technology into business terms with customers at all levels
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Effective strategic planning and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to interpret data and develop innovative solutions to execute those solutions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to deal effectively with all levels of the organization
