Senior Data Integration Architect



Important Position for a Lead Data Integration Architect within a 10 person Integration

The team within a Major University environment.  The team is responsible for University-Wide Data and Application Integration projects including internally & externally hosted applications.


Will ensure the delivery of integrations in support of critical University initiatives.

Tasks include:

  • Data Extraction
  • ETL
  • Data Synchronization
  • Provisioning
  • Migration
  • Cleansing


  • A leadership role in the definition & evolution of integration strategy, planning, architecture, development processes & release operations of University-Wide Application & Integration Services.
  • Help build New Good Practices, New Norms, New methods, and New Ways to do Integration better
  • Look at where the industry is going & identify opportunities to modernize & make improvements in Integration Architecture.
  • Enhancing current applications and systems.
  • Working on New projects where there is a focus on ensuring alignment to principals of modern integration.
  • Create architectural designs & operational report models.
  • Work on various integrations to bring data over from third-party systems so they can populate the Salesforce System.
  • Will interface closely with the Solution Architect Group.


The Integration Team utilize Two Platforms:

  • Cloud-based IPaaS, SnapLogic &
  • Informatica for Legacy Systems integration (ETL’s)


Desired Skills:

  • Seeking a “Data Integration Architect”
  • Understanding of Enterprise Architecture & what it is like to work w/different disparate complex systems & try to make them all work together.
  • Review and build designs.
  • Platform experience to include SnapLogic, Informatica and/or other major integration platforms such as Mulesoft, Webmethods, etc.
  • Working with Integration Platforms to include SnapLogic, Informatica, Webmethods, Tibco, MuleSoft. etc.
  • Data & Application Integration experience at Enterprise Level
  • Someone who knows how to work with modern integration techniques to include API Mgt., Web Services, Message Services.
  • Overall experience working w/Architectural Structure, Artifacts & Documentation that can help advance the group.
  • Cloud Computing fundamentals: specifically iPaaS, IaaS, SaaS, PaaS
  • Security considerations for Integration w/Internal & External/Cloud systems w/standards such as OpenID, oAuth, & SAML.
  • Must have good relationship building skills. Will interface w/various groups & stakeholders on campus.
  • Experience w/technologies like SOAP, REST, Message Queues
  • Understanding of various non-functional aspects of integrations such as performance, reliability, scalability, availability, privacy, legal compliance, etc.
  • Knowledge and certification in ITIL Project Management a +.


On the legacy side, we maintain a large DW to support the mainframe which produces a lot of data.  Produce ETL’s from the mainframe into DW that produces standing tables in Oracle & then into a DW that users can run business intelligence on.  There is still a bunch of Point to Point Applications to move into a broader Integration Hub that can be accessed by various campus organizations.

The group is very collaborative.  Group uses & entertains New Tools designed to have members work in a more collaborative way.


Work very closely with SnapLogic Support Teams in moving data within the university & in the cloud.


Looking for 7-8 years of experience for Sr Architect & perhaps someone with 5-6 years of experience for an Architect short of the Sr level. Target Comp $160K
