Job Description

SOFTWARE ENGINEER

 

The Software Engineer will report to the Manager of the Application Development group and be responsible for all aspects of the data acquisition process, including requirements definition, development, testing, implementation and maintenance.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Learn, maintain, support and enhance the existing data acquisition framework
  • Create new applications, reports and automated tests using the existing framework
  • Build out the data acquisition framework for new providers and asset classes
  • Build tools to summarize and display security and collateral information
  • Design database schemas for various data providers and asset classes
  • Implement tools to enhance the deployment of the data acquisition infrastructure

 

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field preferred
  • Professional experience with .NET development platform, specifically C#
  • BS/BA with 3-5 years of experience
  • MS with 1-3 years of experience
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Ability to critically evaluate and improve current processes
  • Proven ability to produce quality work under time pressure
  • Excellent technical and communication skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Intellectual curiosity and an eagerness to learn

 

 

 

APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT SYSTEMS ANALYST

The Systems Analyst will work in the Application Development group to build applications that enhance and improve Back Office Operations. The Analyst will report to the Manager of Application Development and is responsible for all aspects of the application development process, including requirements, development, testing, implementation and maintenance.

Responsibilities:
• Learn existing application and database framework
• Work with members of the Back Office to determine automation needs
• Develop applications in the approved technologies to meet all requirements
• Analyze, select and integrate vendor software where necessary
• Adhere to current development processes including documentation, code standards, and testing
• Liaise with internal colleagues and external counterparties to ensure seamless integration is achieved when implementing or enhancing applications
• Work as a technical intermediary between Back Office staff and application vendors

Qualifications:
• Experience building and maintaining applications in WPF, XAML
• Experience using application patterns like MVVM and MVC in WPF
• Experience writing tests including Unit, Integration, Automated UI
• Experience with SQL server, ASP.NET and the .NET development platform, specifically C#
• Understanding of hedge fund processes: allocations, valuation and recons
• Understanding of investments: fixed income, swaps/derivatives and financing
• Minimum 5 years of prior related experience within a financial services firm
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Strong technical and project management skills
• Ability to challenge current processes in order to improve them
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
• Ability to work well under pressure and within a deadline driven environment

 

Job Types: Full-Time. Salaries: 130-145k.
