Job Description

We are currently seeking a Database Solutions Engineer preferably with an interest in system design, integration and development. This position requires a creative person with great attention to detail, the ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently as well as a member of a team. This role will involve all aspects of database design and development as well as application testing and operations support. The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, outstanding customer service skills, and a willingness to work hard. Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
  • 2-6 years of relevant experience in related industries / technologies
  • Superb analytic and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong SQL skills (preferably Oracle).

  • PostgreSQL.
  • MariaDB.
  • IBM Db2.
  • Oracle Database.
  • Firebird.
  • Amazon Relational Database Service.
  • Programming experience in either (Java, PHP,C/C++)
  • Unix / Linux scripting experience (Perl, Shell, Python)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Success working in a fast-paced, dynamic and creative environment

  • Primarily a database developer role, so strong database/sql. Preferably Oracle, but doesn’t need to be.
    • Some object oriented programming experience (we use php, perl, have had Java application in the past but not currently). Our belief is a good OO programmer will be able to pickup/learn the syntax of an unknown language pretty easily (a good programmer is a good programmer regardless of the language).
    • Linux (Red Hat is what we use) – 95% of our production systems are Linux…only a couple windows boxes. So must be comfortable at command line/scripting. Our developers are commonly doing file transfers, scripting and other somewhat basic linux tasks….nothing extreme but a pure Microsoft SQL Server developer will not be a Fit because of the struggle to simply work in our Linux environment.
    • Good problem solver/attention to detail
    • Excellent communication, both verbal & written. Will be communicating with all roles here at Pluris from Analyst to Execs and will typically communicate directly with clients.
